    Double-check relation, possibly another Carl Priebe? Alt. date is 1803. Also said to have been born in Garnsee, According to: Emigration to the United States: A history of over 150 years, Carl had sisters living in Grünewald. Supposedly born in Olschowken, Marienwerder, Westpreußen, Germany or Garnsee. However, evidence would suggest that he was the grandson or great-grandson of Bogislav Heinrich Priebe, the Holzwärter in Bramstädt.

    Died:
    Died from drowning in a river while bathing. (Was somehow still alive for his son's wedding...) 1 SLGP 2 DATE 26 Jan 1979 2 PLAC Provo Temple 1 _FA6 2 PLAC drowned on farm. Must have died near the end of May. Ron Swanson's tree purports he died in 1864.
