- Richard served in WWII and was captured by the Russians. He was in prison there until he got sick. They released him to wander in the wilderness to die. But he walked to Berlin where there was an earlier plan to meet his family. He is the only one that immigrated to Canada, other than his wife (Wanda)'s sister Elzbeth. Richard had only one brother. His name was Willie. He also was in the army. He has two sons born after the war. They are still in Germany.
