    OBITUARY OF Mrs. IDA MATHIDA FOGLE; Mrs. Ida Mathilda Fogle, nee Jahn, was born on October 14, 1880, in Crawford County, Iowa. to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jahn. She was baptized by G. Haar, Lutheran Pastor, on April 25, 1881, and confirmed March 8th, 1894. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, by the Rev. C. Runge. On September 18th, 1900, she was united in marriage to George C. Fogle in Chicago. To this union one daughter, Augusta, was born. Mrs. Fogle lived in and near Charter Oak all her life with the exception of a few years spent in Chicago. Her husband preceded her in death by some 26 years and since his death she has made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Clausen, on a farm northeast of Charter Oak. Her daughter departed this life seven months ago. Mrs. Fogle has been in failing health about five years. She responded quite well to treatments for some time, but it soon became evident that she would never again be well. And she gradually grew weaker. Her condition became alarming some six weeks ago and she closed her eyes in death at 6:30 p. m. July 4th, at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 20 days She was a member of St. John's Ladies Aid Society and ever took an interest in her church. She received Christian burial on July 6th with a service at the Vernon Clausen home and the Lutheran Church. interment was made in St. Paul's Cemetery, Charter Oak. Memorial wreaths are being given by relatives and friends for various charitable organizations in her perpetual memory. There remain to mourn her loss: her son-in-law, Vernon Clausen, and two grandchildren: Vernette (Mrs. Emil Bielfeldt) of Charter Oak, and Paul at home; three brothers: Charles Jahn, Ute, Otto Jahn, Denison, Ben Jahn,,Ute; and six sisters: Bertha (Mrs. Fred Mesenbrink), Windom,, Minn., Louise (Mrs. Carl Kutschinski) Charter Oak, Anna (Mrs. Ben Marten), Lena (Mrs. Albert Strissel), Denison, Minnie (Mrs. Emil Hopp), Charter Oak, and Mathilda (Mrs. Albert Rabe) Charter Oak; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were: Raymond Hopp, Reynold Marten, Vernon Rabe, Arthur Kutschinski, Gus Jeschke, and Walter Jahn. (taken from a newspaper clipping - obituary saved by Erna Friedrichs).
