- Olinda Kutschinksi was born May 17, 1904 in Charter Oak Township near Charter Oak. She is the daughter of Carl and Louise (Jahn) Kutschinski. Her father was born April 25, 1870 in Germany and married Louise Jahn on February 15, 1900. Her mother was born November 26, 1877 in Chicago, Illinois. They had seven children: Earnest, died at the age of four months, Erna Friedrichs, Olinda Schultz, Art, Elmer, Alvin, and Irene Lee. Olinda attended country school and two years at St. John's Lutheran School in Charter Oak. Olinda met William Schultz at a house party and were married February 7, 1932 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. William was born August 7, 1908 in Hanover Township. He is the son of Carl and Anna (Nemitz) Schultz. His father was born in Hanover Township on November 9, 1878 and his mother was born near Ricketts on November 21, 1883 and they were married on June 5, 1904. They had seven children: Paul, Bernard, Wil- liam, Viola Dorale, Erna Kastner, Edgar, and Helen McKee. Carl and Anna adopted Minnie Huebner. Wil- liam attended St. Paul's Lutheran School at Hanover Township, east of Ricketts. William and Olinda have two children, Earl and Marlene. Earl is married to Joleen Reicks and they have three children: Kim Plough, Kreg and Kyle. Marlene is married to Milroy Groth. William and Olinda lived on various farms near Battle Creek, Schleswig, Ricketts, and Charter Oak. In September 1979, they retired from the farm and moved to Charter Oak. They are members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Their hobbies: Wm. collects key rings and Olinda likes to read and both do yard work and flowers. William Edward Otto Schultz was born August 7, 1908, the son of Carl and Anna Nemitz Schultz. He died on December 21, 1993 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-five years. William was born on a farm in Hanover Township and received his education in St. Paul's Lutheran School in Hanover Township. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. After completing his education, William worked on various farms in the Ricketts and Schleswig area until he was united in marriage to Olinda Kutschinski on Eebruary 7, 1932, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak by Rev. Amstein. The couple made their home on various farms in the Ricketts, Battle Creek, Schleswig and Charter Oak areas and were blessed with the birth of two children. In September of 1979, they retired from farming and moved to Charter Oak, lowa where they remained until moving to Eventide Lutheran Home in September of 1993. While living in Charter Oak, the Bill enjoyed caring for his yard and garden, and always enjoyed visiting with friends during his frequent walks and enjoyed visiting the farm. In February of this year, the couple celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary. Bill was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak and was a voting member of the church. He served in the Lutheran Layman's League and served in several offices in the league. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Ben, Paul, and Edgar; and one sister, Minnie Huebner. Survivors include his wife, Olinda of Eventide; one son Earl and his wife, Joleen of Charter Oak and one daughter, Marlene Groth and her husband, Milroy of Denison. A/so one granddaughter, Kim Plough and her husband, Rory of Charter Oak; and two grandsons, Kreg Schultz and his wife, Julie of LeMars, Iowa and Kyle Schultz and his wife Teresa of Charter Oak; and one great-grandson, Travis Plough at home in Charter Oak.
