  1920 Census for son of August Ludwig, George William, notes father's birth place as Mecklenberg. August Ludwig Marks Obituary Translation: August L Marks was born in Pommerania and ended his life's journey in belief and joy on the 19th of March 1916 in the area of Prairie Farm, Wis., at the age of 66 Years, 3 Months and 28 days. In 1857 he came as a young man with his parents in this country and lived for several years in New York State. After that he moved to Waushara County, Wis. and only lived in the Prairie Farm area for a year. In 1868 he married Ernestine Pooch, with whom he shared a happy marriage for 48 years. This marriage was blessed with 1 daughter and 8 sons; of these 2 are Preachers in the Wisconsin conference and the daughter is the wife of Dr. Mankowsky the Evangelist. About 48 years ago Mr. M. was converted and was a true member of the Church. As husband and father he shared his faith with wisdom and of Christ he was serious and found freedom. He ended his journey in Church at the beginning of Sunday afternoon worship. This brought a very serious silence to the congregation, and at the end of the service the Preacher at the pulpit was filled with the holy Ghost, and as a result 3 adults on that afternoon were converted. Griefstricken are his wife, 8 sons, one daughter, one brother, 3 sisters and many friends who are however joyful knowing they will see him again in the future
