These Lehrbriefe are certificates of apprenticeship between the master and apprentices in Belgard, with many of the entries being for the city of Schivelbein. Sometimes physical qualities are described, like hair color or stature. Several copies of each can be found for a few individuals. The wax seal on several of them were preserved.
