Not only did most of the church records for Körlin not survive outside of military garrisons, the master’s book for the Körlin Schneider guild pre-dates most surviving duplicate books for anywhere in Hinterpommern by about 200 years. This is a valuable resource that can help fill in the gaps from other records. For example, the Daniel Friedriech Karske shown in the image above is likely a relative of the Kaske family previously covered from Alt Lülfitz in Belgard.

Nearly 400 pages provide a rich history of the guild and the craftsmen who lived in the area.

Help us make these records more accessible for researchers worldwide. If you can read old script, we would love your help to make the entries in these books searchable. Please consider donating your time, even if it's just for a few pages. (We also use Google Sheets so you can see where the last person left off and where the work needs to be continued!)
