Belgard – Colonization – Reclamation of Deserted Areas and Appointment of Foreign Colonists (1742-1766)
This book details files for land reclamation of deserted areas and the appointment of foreign colonists. The document mentions families from the Hessen-Darmstadt and Polish areas, among other places. Some pages call these colonists by name. Areas surrounding Vorwerk in Belgard are mentioned, such as the Schetterow, Lülfitz, Rostin, Klein Panknin, and Klempin. Other pages mention colonists, their professions, and the Neustettin and Bublitz areas. Some of the settlers appear to have come from Swedish Pomerania as well.
The map included shows that Vorwerk used to have a Schäferei and that the forest surrounding it was protected.
