I was recently given permission by Martin Bonneß to publish his family tree on My Pomerania. He was very excited to help other researchers with his work and for the possibility to connect with other family members.

The earliest parts of his family tree come from Gandelin in Kreis Kolberg-Körlin around 1794. They would be known within the community of Naugard, also in Kolberg-Körlin. Later generations would live in Drenow, Gribow, Zernin, Sternin, and Neu Bork, with some relatives immigrating to Ohio and Brazil.

Martin’s family is well documented in a four-part PDF series that can be found below:

  1. Grandfather, Part I
  2. Grandfather, Part II
  3. Grandmother
  4. His Mother
  5. Flucht aus der DDR Diktatur

For English-speakers, the German used in the series is not difficult to follow. Some parts document the life of the family in the Kaiserliche Marine. Later, the family became fishermen. He also writes about the farming aspects of his family’s lives.

These genealogical documents are re-published with permission from their author.
