While Körlin’s Standesamt survived, only its military church book for the garrison managed to make it to the present day. With such a huge gap in a historic city’s records, looking to the guilds can be a helpful start for understanding who worked in the area. The Schmied guild essentially covers blacksmiths belonging to the guild in Körlin.

This is the Schmied guild’s record book for its journeymen from 1802 until 1859. These smiths are mentioned in parts of Kolberg-Körlin, Belgard, and Köslin–especially in the closely adjoined territories.

Help us make these records more accessible for researchers worldwide. If you can read old script, we would love your help to make the entries in these books searchable. Please consider donating your time, even if it's just for a few pages. (We also use Google Sheets so you can see where the last person left off and where the work needs to be continued!)
