The State Archives in Warsaw contain some relevant material for those researching in the arear surrounding Pomerania. In this case, during a search through archival holdings for emigration files, I stumbled upon a collection relating to South Prussia. What was even more surprising was, while others contained hundreds of pages on handfuls of individuals, that this one single book contained hundreds of names from all across Posen.

This list of colonists is relevant for those researching in the following Ämter: Altenhof, Buck, Brześć, Cionczin, Dolzig, Fraustadt, Giecz, Gnesen, Klecko, Komornik, Kosten, Kowal, Kroeben, Laziska, Langgoslin, Moszÿn, Mrowino, Neudorf, Peÿsern, Polajewo, Posen, Powidz, Przedecz, Pudewitz, Radziejewo, Raczionzek, Rogasen, Rokitten, Rÿszewo, Schroda, Skorzenzin, Slabomirz, Szydlowo, Trzemeszno, Wongrowiec (Wongrowitz), and Krotoschin.

This collection has not been transcribed yet.

Help us make these records more accessible for researchers worldwide. If you can read old script, we would love your help to make the entries in these books searchable. Please consider donating your time, even if it's just for a few pages. (We also use Google Sheets so you can see where the last person left off and where the work needs to be continued!)
